Lent Series: Week 5 (Updated)
Sorry, friends! I sent the wrong Lent post earlier that had nothing in it except the header picture. #facepalm. I blame it on the NC pollen. JK. I just hit the wrong button on the draft. Here’s the real one for this week.

Art and music and literature and poetry are so powerful to me, especially in times like the Lenten season when words might be jumbled. One of my favorite artists is Kelly Lattimore. Kelly’s work depicts themes or scenes from the Bible into modern-day neighbors (at least that’s how I interpret them) and has a strong bent towards justice. A few of my favorites are - The holy family running as refugees from Egypt depicted as refugees today (La Sagrada Familia); A tribute to COVID at the 5 year mark; Christ breaks the rifle; The Good Neighbor; and The parable of the mustard seed. Take a look at Kelly’s paintings and don’t miss the descriptions of these works - especially the COVID one, which is a newly commissioned work. You can also buy the work on the website. (Be sure to check out the gorgeous calendar in the store.)
