I’m sitting outside in the gorgeous North Carolina weather. I had planned on writing something about flipping over tables (like Matthew 21 describes Jesus doing when there are money changers in the temple) as a Lenten reflection. But, if I’m being real honest, I don’t quite have it in me to do that this week. This week, so many of my friends continue to lose their jobs. This week, I heard that my team is at risk too. I’ll update you more on that next week when I know more. It’s a waiting game at the moment. But, for now, I hope you’ll understand that I don’t have the brain space or the fight to talk about flipping over tables today. It’s just been a rough week and I know that’s the case for many of you. So, maybe I can help encourage you by telling you what I’m doing to find my footing. I want to start by talking about Dr. Francis Collins.

*These paid posts are always more personal than my regular science ones, like the Neighbor Tuesday posts. If you’re wondering why, here’s an explanation. Not all of you will want the personal musings and I totally understand that. I also include why I give a preview of these posts to everyone. Not as a bait-and-switch! Believe me, that’s about as opposite of me as you can get. It’s simply to let you all know what content is in the paid posts in case it’s something you’re interested in. The science posts are always free!
