Hi neighbors! Can you believe it’s the end of May (checks calendar), JK, it’s June? I can’t but am so pumped about it. I have always LOVED summer time because the kids are home and things slow way down. It’s been a tradition of mine over the past few years to take the summers off from Substack when the kids get out of school - and that’s this week! And, it’s hard to do that this year with everything going on! But, perhaps it’s also necessary because of everything going on in the world. So, with that said, I’m going to honor the rhythm of summer. I’ll still be writing the more personal posts (which are much easier to write than the science-posts like Neighbor Tuesdays), so stay tuned for those if you’re interested in updates on life, what I’m reading, gardening updates, and whatever else is on my mind.
I do hope you all have a great few months of rest, family, and joy - whatever that looks like for you. For me, it starts in the garden and look at what is showing up this week! Can you believe these? I have 4 other bunches just as big and I could burst with joy.
Happy summer, neighbors!

I hope you and your family enjoy some sweet time together this summer. Those flowers will certainly make any room you're in brighter. Stargazer lilies are a favorite of mine, and I hope these have even a fraction of that wonderful fragrance!
