I’m curious your thoughts on the mixing snd matching with jnj and mRNA. Usually there is no missing of vaccine series. Why is this different band accepted? I want the booster of mRNA but hesitant since I received jnj. I was not a fan of receiving the jnj vaccine and 3 weeks later reactions were discovered. Is there shared data of how many studied individuals mixed? Thank you for all your posts and time.

Hi Sarah. I wrote a post about that on October 19th. Hope that helps!

Average daily death toll at about 1,000 people grieves me. But how does that statistic compare/contrast with average daily death tolls from other, more familiar causes, such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, accidents, etc.? It would be illuminating to see something showing that (as you did to show us deaths from diseases for which children are commonly immunized). Thank you for all that you do!

I did that comparison a while back - I think it's on the FB page.

Thank you, I will look for it.

Do you know if anyone is tabulating how many 5-11 year olds are getting vaccinated? I read that they were estimating that 1 million of the age group got a shot in the first week. I'm hopeful that the additional age group will help drive case numbers back down.

I read that too! I'm hoping it can also drive down numbers. But it will take some time because of the double dose needed for kids. And there are 24ish million kids between 5-11 - so we have a ways to go. =)

Yes, I'm encouraged every time I see a friend post about their child getting vaccinated. Our school district is holding clinics in 6 of our schools on Thursday or Saturday this week. Almost 2000 appointment slots available! About 25% of those were claimed in the first few hours. Every little bit helps, right?

I posted on Twitter a pic of my big kids getting vaccinated to help protect their high risk sis. I got ripped to pieces. People are cruel.

What are your thoughts on boosters post Covid (Dec 2020) and Moderna x 2 Jan/Feb 2021? The shots hit me like a ton of bricks, as I was obviously pre-primed. Have read that we (Covid + vaccine) are potentially “super immune”. Been putting it off a bit because of potential S/E; of course encouraging all my family and patients to boost.

This is definitely a question for your doctor. We do know that natural infections provide some protection but that can vary by person.

I have had people on my feed, saying they think people that have their kids get vaccine, should be charged with child abuse! My daughter and son-in-law got boosters because of their jobs, and they are going to take the advice of their pediatrician ( I guess if he says to get them…that is abuse). Well my grandsons just called me and told me they are getting theirs in two days.. I just want to say to those on my feed, that maybe it is abuse for adults around them not to wear masks when they are not vaccinated, or to send their kids to school without masks exposing them and others to Covid, or even for adults to refuse the vaccine when they are taking zero precautions. They should have been helping to protect the vulnerable. We had one of one of the highest icu rates for children in my my state (Oklahoma). In the first few weeks there were more more cases in schools than all of last year. But no one was closing or allowed to require masks. One judge overturned the no mask mandate but allowed for parental objection. Stitt claimed he won by get the parental objection. But districts that claimed they did and very few sent in objections. Still, some large school districts, refused to require masks or even teachers and staff to ask them to. They sent two n95 for the entire year. They sent air filters for for the grades , but none for the offices, choir room, art room and so on. Unreal!

Where were you able to get a different booster? I've been trying to get Moderna (Pfizer initially) but both Walgreens and CVS only allow sign up for the same 😕

Since I originally got J&J, I'm approved to get any booster. (The FDA/CDC recommended J&J recipients to get a booster, regardless of age.) So I chose the mRNA one I could get the quickest.
