Hi everyone, I’ve received several messages this week asking where I’ve been. I mentioned in my last post that my kiddos are off from school for a few weeks. And I’m taking a break with them. Thanks for understanding! I’ll be back next week with lots to cover with Omicron. Ugh. Until then, I hope everyone has some time and space to rest. Get those boosters, avoid gatherings, wear your masks, do rapid testing.
I’m wondering if you could help me to clarify something….
Why does the CDC (and local DOHs) still consider 2 vaccines “fully vaccinated”? I’m finding that the labels of “fully vaccinated” and “boosted” in the charts and research are very confusing for people who don’t understand that the booster (3rd dose) is necessary to protect against omicron and to maintain immunity against all variants after 6-8 months. Is there anything you can think of that we (medical and related professionals) can do collectively to encourage the agencies to label things differently (I.e. 1st vaccine, 2nd vaccine, 3rd vaccine…4th ….and so on) since were in this for the long haul? I’m getting a bit weary hearing about how the vaccine doesn’t work because of breakthrough cases.
Thanks! And thank you for all you are doing to educate.
Enjoy this time with your family!
Enjoy and kids and the hubs
