With Omicron and Delta in the US and UK and the world now, we need to keep pushing vaccines and boosters. Friends, this post will be short because that’s the message. (All data is from here.) You need vaccines and you really need your booster. Cases and hospitalizations continue to rise in the US.
My 11 year old is 8 days away from fully vaccinated! It is hard to see how many people are dying, not just nationwide, but worldwide everyday. Day after day.
So I have to cancel my booster appointment today because I tested positive for Covid last night with a home NAAT device. I'm getting a PCR from the health department to verify. I wonder when the right time to get the booster is. Like will I have pretty strong antibodies over Christmas and New Year's from the breakthrough, and get a better boost from another vaccine dose if I wait until January? (It's a question of when, not if, to get that booster.)
Emily, thank you for the tireless work you do to keep all of us updated and informed. I am so sorry you and your family are being subjected to so many angry and vile comments from professed "Christians" no less. As an RN for 37 years, I continually shake my head every day that we are where we are at this juncture. It's simply inconceivable to me that so many people are still so suspicious and fearful, and continue to die needlessly as a result. I often ponder how we'll look back on this time a decade from now. Keep doing what you do. It matters so very much. XO

It sure would be nice if the graphs also showed convalescent re-infection rates (both vaccinated and not) too.
